The Ica Valley is one of the oldest and most important agricultural regions of Perú. The first grapes in Perú were planted here and crops like cotton and olives are just as important as the grapes you also must know that the Ica region is Peru’s leading grower of grapes thanks to the desert weather mainly produced by the cold Pacific that doesn’t allow to see much rains and also the improvement of new techniques of irrigations.

During this excursion, you’ll explore the processes for making pisco, and wine, and sample delicious varieties of each.

Itinerary

08:00 hrs. After breakfast, private transfer to visit Hacienda La Caravedo, the distillery for Pisco Portón and the oldest in all of Peru dating back to 1856. On this VIP Pisco tour, you will learn the history of Pisco dating back to its origins in Peru, gain first-hand insight into the entire production process, and sample some of the master distillers Johnny Schuler’s personal favorites.

Later on, this morning, proceed to visit the Hacienda Tacama winery, visually one of the most beautiful wineries in Peru dating back to the 16th century. Hacienda Tacama grows 23 distinct varieties of grapes, 18 of which are used for alcohol production and eight for Pisco. You will sample Tacama’s premium red and white wines including the award-winning Tacama Doña Ana 2014, Don Manuel Tanat 2015, and other unique wines grown and aged in-house.

Lunch and traditional Peruvian Paso horse demonstration at the restaurant of the hacienda (only available on Saturday and Sunday.
