Join us on a classic city tour through the pre-Hispanic, colonial and modern history of Lima on this half-day tour of the City of the Kings. Visit the Pucllana Pyramid, built in the IV century a.D., walk through the Plaza Mayor and its caractheristic architecture an and discover the Franciscan Monastery and its catacombs.
The local tour starts with a panoramic glimpse of the Pucllana Pyramid, constructed in the 4th century A.D. and regarded as a sacred village by the Incas. This pre-inca ceremonial temple in the form of a pyramid that has survived the urban expansion of Lima. A brief stop at the Parque del Amor located on the Malecón de Miraflores will allow us to observe the Pacific Ocean.
Continuing our journey, we will go to the Historical Center of Lima, declared by UNESCO in 1991 Cultural Heritage of Humanity, where the centre of the Spanish colony was established in the sixteenth century and the first buildings were built. We will visit the Plaza San Martín, its balconies and old houses, the Plaza Mayor and its most important buildings such as the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, the Archbishop and Municipal Palace, the Desamparados Station, among others.
Finally, we will enter one of the most important convents of the seventeenth century: the Franciscan Monastery. We will visit the old Library, the Choir, the Main Cloister and the underground crypts known as Catacombs.
